40 yard RoRo skip

Our larger-sized RoRo can help get rid of the need for multiple skip collections or exchanges.

The 40-yard skip is suitable for large volumes of light construction and other waste, or large bulky items, but not hardcore. Can hold up to 400 bin bags of waste, approximately. Other RoRo skip sizes are also available.

You must place your skip on private land. If you need to place your skip on a public highway. A skip hire permit will be required. This may incur additional charges by the relevant local authority, in addition to the cost of hire. The enforcement and charges for skip hire together can vary regionally.

The permits are charged to the customer. If the permit is declined by the local authority, the charge is non-refundable.

Contact us to check for your skip hire permit eligibility.

The skip will be delivered between 7am and 5.30pm on the day of hire. You can request a specific period at the time of booking.

The location where the skip is to be placed must be accessible for a skip lorry. This must be clear from obstruction for both the delivery and the collection.

Do not load hazardous materials into the skip. For more information on permitted waste streams for skip hire, visit our terms and conditions.

Examples of prohibited materials are:

  • Paint tins
  • Plasterboard
  • Mattresses
  • Electronic equipment

When hiring a 40-yard skip, the delivery location must be considered. All RoRo skips can be delivered onto private land, but in some circumstances, this may not be possible.

If space is limited and a 40-yard skip cannot be placed on private land, a skip hire permit must be obtained. This allows you to place your RoRo skip onto a public road. The local authority must approve this permit.

We’re more than happy to help you obtain a permit, and our friendly customer service team is always on hand. There may be additional charges for your permit, but we’ll make sure that you get the help you need.

You can load most materials into a 40-yard skip, but hazardous items are prohibited.

Prohibited materials include, but are not limited to:

  • Paint tins
  • Domestic Fridges/American Style Fridges
  • WEEE waste
  • Plasterboard

A full list of prohibited materials can be found in our terms and conditions.
