Why choose a roll on roll off skip?

RoRo skips are the perfect choice for construction-based projects generating extremely high amounts of waste, such as construction debris, demolition waste, and bulky items. These large capacity skips offer many advantages:

Increase capacity to standard size skips
Versatility of more waste types
Save time and costs
Improved skip utilisation

A roll on roll off skip, or a ‘RoRo’ as it’s known as in the industry, is a larger skip container used for bulkier types of waste traditionally found in construction debris or demolition waste. The term ‘roll on roll off’ comes from its design, due to the containers being easily rolled on and off a skip container upon delivery and collection.

The price will depend on the size of the RoRo skip you order, and where you are based in the UK. Through Reconomy’s Recycle Loop, we have an incredible list of supply chain partners ready to help you wherever you are. If you would like to hire a RoRo skip from us, please get in touch today for an instant quote.

RORO skips typically come in various sizes to accommodate different project needs. Common sizes range from 20 cubic yards to 40 cubic yards, providing ample space for disposing of construction debris, demolition waste, and bulky items.

Roll on roll off skips can accept a wide range of waste materials, from construction and demolition waste, concrete, bricks, wood, and soil. However, hazardous waste or prohibited materials such as asbestos waste, chemical waste, batteries, and tires are not permitted and will require special disposal methods. If you have any of these items of waste on site and require some help with disposal, please get in touch today and one of the team can help.

The duration of roll on roll off skip hire can vary depending on your project requirements and the hire policies of our supply chain partners. Typically, hire periods range from a few days to several weeks. Extended hire options may also be available for long-term projects, so please let us know so our quote can be tailored to your requirements.

All skips are to be placed on private land. If private land is not available and your skip is to be placed on the public highway a skip hire permit will be required.  Additional charges enforced by the relevant local authority will be applied in such instances, in addition to the cost of hire. Charges for skip hire permits together with their enforcement vary regionally.

All permits are chargeable to the customer. Should the permit be declined by the local authority, this charge is non-refundable.

If you require a skip hire permit, please contact us to check eligibility.

Delivery on the day of hire will be between the hours of 7am and 5.30pm.  With specific time periods available to be requested at the time of booking.

Please ensure the location of where the skip is to be placed is accessible for a skip lorry and clear from obstruction for both delivery and collection.
