Slave Free Alliance Lunch ‘n’ Learn with Eliza Chanin
On Friday 19th May, our Compliance Manager, Eliza Chanin participated in Slave Free Alliance’s online Lunch ‘n’ Learn: Modern Slavery Statements, policies, and the UK registry. Eliza was also joined on the panel by Akanksha Agnihotri and Tom Frost, both from Slave Free Alliance.
It was an interesting discussion looking at how an annual modern slavery statement is beneficial for commercial benchmarking to monitor progress of a business.
Eliza advised of the importance for businesses to have staff buy-in at all levels to ensure policies are adhered to. As well as regular training throughout the year.
Finally, Eliza shared how Reconomy are encouraging suppliers to work with their suppliers to promote good practice further down the line.
