Reconomy Social Value Programme (RSVP) supports Barratt Homes’ Volunteering Day

Reconomy staff members have taken part in a charity volunteering day, organised by Barratt Homes, to support the homeless within the Borough of Hayes, West London.

The project was established by Barratt Homes to oversee the renovation of two properties for use by the homeless community and other vulnerable local people. Support was provided via Reconomy’s Social Value Programme (RSVP), which has been created to enable Reconomy and its team to give something back communities and build invaluable relationships.

As part of RSVP, all members of staff are given the opportunity to take part in paid volunteering. Reconomy’s National Account Manager, Terry Wooton and Corporate Account Manager, Tony Filson both volunteered their time to support the Barratt Homes project.

Tony and Terry were on hand throughout the day to assist with general labouring and garden renovation work. To provide further assistance, Reconomy also supplied a free-of-charge 8-yard skip to collect all the waste generated during the project.

Reconomy’s Corporate Account Manager, Tony Filson, said: “On behalf of myself and Terry we would like to thank the entire Barratt London team for letting us contribute to this amazing project. Its been a great thrill to join forces in support of such a worthy cause. We hope this is the first of many other Barratt Homes volunteering days that we can support as part of our RSVP activities.”
