Reconomy wins double recognition for global sustainability leadership

Reconomy, the leading international circular economy specialist, is delighted to announce that it has been recognised for the third time as the Top Portfolio Company at the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA) Excellence in Sustainability 2025 Awards. Reconomy has also been highly commended in the ESG Programme Award category at The Global Sustainability Awards.

The BVCA’s Excellence in Sustainability Awards aims to recognise firms that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to sustainability. The Global Sustainability Awards 2025 honour the most pioneering, purpose-driven and impactful organisations championing sustainability on a global scale. Its ESG Programme Award celebrates the remarkable organisations that incorporate ESG into their corporate values and actions.

These accolades recognise Reconomy’s extensive commitment to driving sustainability and the strong progress made against its targets outlined in its 2024 Annual Sustainability Report, published in May 2025. Notable highlights include cutting its market-based Scope 1 and 2 emissions by nearly 14%, 95% of global electricity use coming from renewable sources and diverting 98.5% of all waste managed from landfill. Reconomy also began measuring the overall circularity of its own operations to see how it can drive further progress and started to track its contribution to shifting the Earth Overshoot Day – the point at which global resource consumption exceeds the Earth’s ability to regenerate those resources.

Diane Crowe, Group Sustainability Director at Reconomy, commented: “We are delighted by these recognitions which reflect our deep commitment to driving sustainability across our own business while helping our customers achieve growth without depleting natural resources. We thank our dedicated people who work tirelessly towards fulfilling our mission of a waste-free world and are determined to lead the way towards advancing the circular economy.”
