Reconomy shortlisted for two awards at the 10th Business Culture Awards 2025 in recognition of cultural excellence

Reconomy, the international circular economy specialist, has been shortlisted for two categories at the 10th Annual Business Culture Awards 2025, which celebrate organisations that set employees up to succeed and recognise how employee experience drives business performance.

The Company is a finalist for:

  • Best Large Organisation for Business Culture – recognising companies with more than 2,500 employees that have delivered substantial initiatives or transformative step-changes with demonstrable impact on culture, from DEI and wellbeing to leadership development and innovation.
  • Best Employee Voice Initiative for Business Culture – celebrating organisations that harness employee voice to build trust, psychological safety and engagement, leading to tangible gains in innovation, retention and productivity.

These nominations follow a year of major progress within Reconomy’s People function, reflecting its commitment to an inclusive, engaging and high-performing workplace.

Over the last 12 months, Reconomy has:

  • Introduced a new global engagement survey, expanding inclusion and culture questions to benchmark progress externally.
  • Signed the Race at Work Charter, pledging action on leadership commitment, fair recruitment and data-driven accountability.
  • Launched Supporting Women in Reconomy, enhancing maternity and adoption leave, introducing a menopause policy and piloting a leadership programme with around 50% female participation.
  • Created dedicated networks for LGBTQ+, menopause and mental health support, and expanded wellbeing resources through its MyPerks platform.
  • Celebrated internal talent with the ‘We Are Reconomy’ awards, attracting over 600 nominations across 10 categories, and supported colleagues to find purpose in their roles and pursue a fulfilling career path with more than 24% of vacancies filled through internal promotions.

Further initiatives are underway, including finalising a DEI strategy, enhancing paternity leave, reviewing people policies and progressing towards Disability Confident Employer status.

Lyndsey Denning, Chief People Officer at Reconomy, said: “Our people are integral to our business and every person in our organisation plays a vital role in achieving our shared vision of a waste-free world. Over the past year we have made significant strides towards our people goals and are committed to creating a workplace where every team member feels a true sense of belonging.

“Looking ahead, we will continue to build on this momentum by providing further opportunities for training and developing a workplace culture that helps them drive circularity forwards.”
