Reconomy Shortlisted at the National Recycling Awards
The year the National Recycling Awards is taking place virtually on Wednesday 27th January between 16.00-17.30. In addition to sponsoring the Circular Economy Initiative category and Independent Operator of the Year category, Reconomy is proud to have been shortlisted for a couple of awards too.
Rising Star Award
Jon Cox, Customer Service Manager for B&I, joined in 2013 straight from college and has amassed a considerable amount of waste industry expertise during his 6 ½ years with the company. After hearing the news Jon said “I am so proud to even be shortlisted for the rising star award. It is great to receive acknowledgement of my achievements throughout my career so far and am thankful to Reconomy for supporting me along the way and for initially recognising my potential and nurturing my development. I wouldn’t be in this position if it weren’t for them and for the team I have around me”.
Social Value Initiative
Having carefully considered how our business model could best deliver social value, The Reconomy Social Value Programme was created. Its aim was to leverage our relationships with customers and suppliers to realise positive change and outcomes. Collectively, we are helping people from vulnerable groups into work, reducing modern slavery, closing the waste industry skills gap and building community engagement. It is testament to the fact that this programme is industry leading and despite only running for a couple of years it continues to build great momentum and with it, great success”.
