Reconomy shortlisted for two awards at the HR Excellence Awards 2025 in recognition of cultural excellence

Reconomy, the international circular economy specialist, is pleased to announce that it has been shortlisted for two categories at HR Magazine’s HR Excellence Awards 2025 which recognise innovation, leadership, and outstanding achievements in HR.

The Best Employee Engagement Strategy award celebrates organisations that place employee engagement at the core of their businesses and demonstrate its impact on productivity levels. Reconomy’s entry highlighted the establishment of its Colleague Experience function, its comprehensive employee voice strategy and some key initiatives. These included setting up its first global engagement survey; a channel for colleagues to submit questions and ideas directly to the CEO; colleague networks; quarterly business briefings and monthly ‘Product Showcases’ to improve understanding of different business areas. These initiatives have improved trust, engagement, retention and employee wellbeing.

The HR Director of the Year category recognises authentic and resilient leaders who have delivered measurable cultural change. The submission detailed how Reconomy’s Chief People Officer, Lyndsey Denning, has implemented a transformative People First Strategy that has reshaped how the business attracts, engages and retains talent creating an inclusive, listening-led culture that puts people at the heart of how the business leads and operates.

Lyndsey Denning, Chief People Officer at Reconomy, said:

“We are delighted to have been shortlisted for these two awards which follows our recent recognition at the Business Culture Awards and reflects the progress we have made in advancing our People First Strategy.

“Like many organisations, we face the challenge of how to maintain connection, trust and engagement in a shifting world of work. It is pleasing to see our efforts to build employee trust and create a workplace where people feel connected to our purpose recognised in this way.”
