Reconomy acquires GEE Services to further global WEEE compliance offering

Reconomy has acquired GEE Services GmbH based in Lebach, Germany. GEE Services has been providing services for manufacturers and dealers of electrical appliances in Germany and abroad for 13 years. As a certified supplier, GEE provides insolvency-proof guarantees ensuring the financial coverage of the takeback and disposal of electrical appliances.

Reconomy’s Comply Division consists of Valpak (UK), Noventiz (Germany), RLG (International, HQ in Germany), and RENE AG (Germany), already providing a comprehensive global sustainability consultancy and environmental compliance service to major customers in all sectors. GEE will be strategically aligned with Noventiz, expanding services in the field of electrical appliance take-back for all parts of the Reconomy Comply Division, meaning customers will benefit from a complete and comprehensive solution.

Dr. Paul Albert Ruhr, founder as well as the previous owner and managing director of GEE Services, explains: “I have run GEE for 13 years with passion and high customer focus. I know that those values will continue to be key in the future and I am convinced that GEE will benefit from Reconomy Group’s large network.” Dirk Boxhammer, Managing Director of NOVENTIZ, emphasises: “The acquisition of GEE is an ideal addition to our range of WEEE compliance solutions. We are pleased to be able to build on the foundation created over many years by Dr Ruhr and develop it further to benefit our customers.”

Paul Cox, CEO of Reconomy Group, concludes: “GEE Services complements the portfolio in Reconomy Group’s Comply Division very well. The acquisition further strengthens our offering and is part of our strategic roadmap to make Reconomy Group the leading global player in environmental compliance and sustainable solutions for the takeback of products and materials. We warmly welcome all GEE employees to Reconomy Group.”
