Reconomy continues to champion internal promotions

15 May 2018

A long-term employee of leading outsourced waste management service provider, Reconomy, has become the latest team member to be elevated into a more senior position as the company continues its strategy of promoting from within.

Mike Wright, who has amassed 17 years’ service at Reconomy, has this week been named as the company’s new Corporate Account Manager. This position will see Mike take overall account management responsibility for two nationally-operating Reconomy clients from within the construction and infrastructure sectors.

Having joined the company in February 2001, Mike began his Reconomy career as a customer services representative before steadily rising through the ranks and moving into account management. Having earned the respect of his peers and the many customers he has served; this latest promotion sees Mike rewarded for his longevity of service together with his hard work and diligence.

Reconomy has a long-established reputation for promoting from within its own ranks, with 22% of staff with over 5 years’ service having been promoted during their time at the company. Last year Reconomy’s internal training academy delivered over 2,000 hours of training to its staff members to help maximise their career potential.

Speaking about his promotion, Mike Wright said: “I feel very fortunate to work at Reconomy, and to be surrounded by such a great team. There have always been massive opportunities for career development here and I’m very grateful to be a part of this team and to have grown alongside the company during the last 17 years.”

Reconomy Chief Executive, Paul Cox, said: “Mike has proven himself time and again to be highly adept at account management and has truly earned this latest promotion. Our strategy has always been to help our people grow professionally and to reward them for their hard work.”

Reconomy is the UK’s leading provider of outsourced waste management and recycling services. In 2017, Reconomy managed the disposal of over 3m tonnes of waste on behalf of its numerous clients. By implementing best practice approaches to waste management, minimising its clients’ waste output and increasing their resource efficiencies, Reconomy successfully diverted 93% of all the waste it managed on their behalf away from landfill.
