Within this newly created role, Diane will help Reconomy’s numerous clients to reach and exceed their own sustainability goals. Diane will also be responsible for Reconomy’s environmental management and social enterprise programmes, the latter of which will help encourage ‘hard to reach’ groups, such as long-term unemployed and homeless people, into meaningful work. This will help to upskill key areas of the waste industry by providing training and development to members of its workforce.
Having worked for one of the UK’s largest construction services companies for over twenty years, Diane is highly experienced in environmental management, and was responsible for the development and successful implementation of her previous company’s sustainability strategy. In 2017 Diane was also part of a team that was presented with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in recognition of its contribution to sustainable development.
Diane is a member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) and holds both an MSc in Environmental Management and Technology, as well as a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Earth Science.
Diane’s arrival at Reconomy coincides with the restructuring of the company’s internal Compliance Team, which will see Reconomy’s long-time Environment and Compliance Manager, Brian Marshall, move into an ambassadorial role within the company.
Talking about her appointment, Diane Crowe said: “I’m delighted to be joining the Reconomy team, particularly at such an exciting time for the company. Reconomy has a formidable reputation within the waste industry for forward thinking and innovation, together with an established culture that strongly promotes sustainability and the circular economy.”
Reconomy Chief Executive, Paul Cox, added: “This is an exciting appointment for Reconomy. Diane brings with her a vast amount of experience, which will help us to further elevate our own sustainability strategy as well as those of our clients. We are delighted to welcome Diane aboard.”
Reconomy is the UK’s leading provider of outsourced waste management and recycling services. In 2017, Reconomy managed the disposal of approximately 3m tonnes of waste on behalf of its numerous clients. The company specialises in implementing best practice approaches to waste management, helping its numerous clients to minimise their waste output and increase resource efficiencies.
