4 yard skip

The 4-yard “midi” skip.

A popular option for small scale construction works, the midi skip is a perfect option for sites that are struggling to find room for a large container.

With a small size that makes it easy to load and holding between 30-40 bin bags worth of waste it’s ideal for all types of DIY projects, general clearances or compactable wastes.

All skips are to be placed on private land. If private land is not available and your skip is to be placed on the public highway a skip hire permit will be required.  Additional charges enforced by the relevant local authority will be applied in such instances, in addition to the cost of hire. Charges for skip hire permits together with their enforcement vary regionally.

All permits are chargeable to the customer. Should the permit be declined by the local authority, this charge is non-refundable.

If you require a skip hire permit, please contact us to check eligibility.

Delivery on the day of hire will be between the hours of 7am and 5.30pm.  With specific time periods available to be requested at the time of booking.

Please ensure the location of where the skip is to be placed is accessible for a skip lorry and clear from obstruction for both delivery and collection.

Hazardous materials cannot be loaded into the skip, please visit our terms and conditions for more information on permitted waste streams for skip hire.

Example materials are but not limited to:

  • Paint tins
  • Plasterboard
  • Mattresses
  • Electronic equipment
  • Fridges / freezers

Please visit our full terms and conditions for full details.

Whenever you hire a 4-yard skip, delivery location needs to be considered. All skips can be delivered onto private land. However, we appreciate that space can be limited sometimes, so it’s not always possible.

When space is limited, sometimes a 4-yard skip cannot be placed on private land. In situations like these, a skip hire permit will need to be obtained. A skip hire permit allows you to place a skip on public road, providing the local authority approves your permit.

If you need a hand obtaining a permit, one of our friendly customer service teams are more than happy to help. Additional charges may apply but Reconomy will make sure you receive all the help you need.

Our 4-yard skips are suitable for most materials, although hazardous items are prohibited.

Here are some examples of the types of materials that are prohibited:

  • Paint tins
  • Domestic Fridges/American Style Fridges
  • WEEE waste
  • Plasterboard

To find a full list of prohibited materials, please visit our terms and conditions
