Prepared for Winter:
We’re prepared for Winter: October 2020 COVID-19 Update
I hope that you are all well and managing to find your way through this very difficult period. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to place significant challenges on us as businesses and individuals.
As we face the possibility of a “second wave” I want to reassure you that Reconomy are fully prepared to deliver your vital waste management services this Winter by sharing with you some of the key elements that underpin our robust continuity approach:
COVID secure working environment
Throughout the pandemic, our number one focus has been safeguarding our employees and since March we have pivoted to a remote working operating model, with all colleagues continuing to work from home and available to you using the regular contact channels.
We have issued all employees with the appropriate PPE and have clear processes in place for external site visits where they are required, although in many cases we are offering support instead via virtual meetings and are happy to do this for any of our customers. Our group offices currently remain closed, but we have established detailed protocols to allow us to reopen them on a phased basis when it is safe to do so. Until that time, we are communicating constantly with our colleagues and keeping up daily team interaction.
Robust controls to ensure service continuity
We have evolved our COVID-19 continuity approach to cover scenarios linked to an increase in infections and further national or local restrictions. We also have clear policies in place for our employees if they live in or visit an affected local area, or are contacted as part of ‘track and trace’ – utilising the breadth of skills and capability across the Reconomy group to cover any absences.
Reconomy has maintained 100% service provision throughout the pandemic by leveraging our geographically diverse supply chain and following robust processes and controls. We’ll continue to work closely with our suppliers to make sure that all necessary contingency plans and actions are in place to avoid any disruption for our customers.
Driving digital transformation
Finally, in these times Reconomy’s continuous strategic focus on technology has benefitted our customers considerably. We’ve maintained significant investment in our digital channels and supply chain integrations this year and have a broad range of options for all customers, offering digital ordering facilities and dynamic reporting.
I’m sure you are taking the opportunity to review your own processes and I’d encourage you to speak to your Reconomy account team about how your business could benefit from our digital channels, whether that be our SiteBuddy and Tipping apps or the Reconomy Portal.
I’d like to thank all of my Reconomy group colleagues for their dedication and adapting to the current circumstances so well. All of us at Reconomy would also like thank our customers, suppliers and partners for their support over the last few months as we work together to navigate the ever-changing landscape.
I wish the best of health to you and those around you, and Reconomy will be here to support you with anything that you need.
