Reconomy, the UK’s leading provider of outsourced recycling and resource-led management services, has been announced as winners of the Sustainable Business Award at the 2019 Personnel Today Awards.
The Personnel Today Awards recognise and reward the best in HR, celebrating companies for their outstanding work within their respective industries.
The Sustainable Business Award was a new category introduced for the first time in 2019. The award acknowledges employers that put sustainability at the forefront of their work, delivering a meaningful contribution towards society in an eco-friendly approach.
Reconomy was announced as winners of the 2019 Sustainable Business Award, having submitted an entry focusing on its recently revamped social value programme. The Reconomy Social Value Programme, known as RSVP, is helping vulnerable groups into work, reducing modern slavery, closing the waste industry skills gap and building community links.
After being announced winners of the award, the Personnel Today judges said: “Reconomy tackles some of society’s bigger challenges, providing work for vulnerable groups, meeting the needs of multiple stakeholders, and demonstrating a holistic, organisation-wide approach to responsible business.”
Reconomy’s Social Value Programme, RSVP, continues to support the company’s objective of becoming the leading sustainable business in the environmental sector. The programme is available for all organisations to join to improve Social Value activity, by emailing RSVP@reconomy.com
