Building Awards

Reconomy has been shortlisted for Digital and BIM Initiative of the Year at the 2019 Building Awards, having pioneered new technologies and ways of working that have the potential to benefit the wider waste industry and associated sectors.

Reconomy’s entry focused on the creation of an automated waste management journey that utilises a range of digital platforms to improve the customer experience and reduce administration, including smartphone apps, software interfaces and online processes.

Highways Awards

The collective achievements of Balfour Beatty Living Places, Reconomy, Ward Recycling and HMP Foston Hall have been recognised following the group’s shortlisting for the Highways Partnership Award at the 2019 Highways Awards.

The partnership achieved 100% recycling on over 14,000 decommissioned streetlights by providing women in custody at HMP Foston Hall with the opportunity to ‘earn and learn’ by receiving training on how to deconstruct the streetlamps. By giving inmates a wage as well as invaluable work experience to help them into employment upon release, the project also delivered over £34,000 of social value.

Personnel Today Awards

Reconomy has been shortlisted for the Sustainable Business Award at the 2019 Personnel Today Awards, having been acknowledged as an employer that puts sustainability at the heart of its work and delivers a meaningful contribution towards wider society.

Reconomy’s goal is to be recognised as the UK’s leading sustainable business operating in the environmental services sector. The company’s Sustainability Strategy is delivering demonstrable success against social, environmental and business objectives to achieve a lasting impact on its customers, suppliers, the many communities it serves and the wider environment.

In-house Recruitment Awards

Having showcased the collective achievements of its HR and Recruitment Department for delivering a focused recruitment strategy, achieving business goals and running effective recruitment campaigns, Reconomy has been shortlisted in two categories at the forthcoming 2019 In-house Recruitment Awards.

The company has been shortlisted in the categories of Recruitment Team of the Year for businesses with less than 1,000, and Executive Search Strategy for its effective recruitment of management-level positions.
