Important legislative update regarding Site Waste Management Plans

Following consultation by DEFRA (department environment, food and rural affairs) the regulations surrounding Site Waste Management Plans will now be repealed as from 1st December 2013.
The proposed repeal was in response to the Governments “Red Tape Challenge” which was tasked with removing unnecessary legislation that potentially acts as a burden to business in the hope of stimulating a failing economy.
As a result of the consultation by DEFRA it was deemed that SWMPs themselves were a burden to small and medium sized businesses and therefore no longer required.
