"At the end of 2006, Rok completed a six month trial of Reconomy Solutions, then called Wastefile UK, as their preferred supplier of waste management services. During the trial they developed a much better understanding of how they should work with Wastefile UK to ensure Rok complies with new legislation, to promote solutions that avoid sending waste to landfill, and, crucially, to get good value for money.
From this trial introduction, Rok and Reconomy Solutions continue to work on introducing 'best in class' waste management solutions to Rok site developments. The introduction of Site Waste Management Plans has meant that Reconomy Solutions and Rok have implemented these seamlessly and have created innovative solutions to minimise the production of waste, with a focus upon reusing and recycling waste thus minimising waste to landfill.
Rok have an excellent intranet where they publish exemplar case studies, such as Nick Ford's at Stratus House in Exeter which won a special Rok environmental award. This demonstrates how working with Reconomy Solutions led to a considerable environmental and cost saving.
