Reconomy announced as Supply Chain Sustainability School partner

Reconomy, the UK’s leading provider of outsourced waste management and recycling services, has become the first waste management company in the UK to be announced as a full partner of the Supply Chain Sustainability School (SCSS).

The SCSS is an award-winning collaboration between businesses and their clients, contractors and suppliers, who each have a mutual interest in building the skillsets of their wider supply chains.

Reconomy has been a member of the SCSS for over three years and become a gold member of the organisation in early 2018. As a full partner, Reconomy will now join with leading businesses in the facilities management, housebuilding, infrastructure and construction sector in taking industry-wide action to improve sustainability, with a particular focus on materials management.

Significant growth for Reconomy over the last 5 year meant that the time was right for the business to develop and expand its relationship with the SCSS. In addition to increasing its learning on sustainability, Reconomy also aims to use the partnership to positively influence the waste industry and the many other sectors that it engages with.

Diane Crowe, Head of Sustainability and Social Value for Reconomy, said: “Becoming a full partner of the Supply Chain Sustainability School demonstrates our commitment to addressing the sustainability agenda but also reflects positively on the work we have already carried out.

“This partnership will provide us with the opportunity to work even closer with the leaders of the various sectors in which we work and bring about a reduction in material usage, increase the value of materials to be disposed of, and help move these industries towards a more circular model of materials use.”
